This graduation project focuses on redefining Indian furniture and home décor for the global export market by aligning traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design sensibilities. By examining evolving expectations at international trade platforms such as EPCH IHGF, the study highlights the need to move beyond repetitive, pattern-driven manufacturing toward more innovative and differentiated design approaches. The project explores how India’s rich craft heritage can be reinterpreted through modern aesthetics, material experimentation, and functional design to enhance global appeal. Emphasis is placed on visual identity, emotional resonance, and storytelling as key drivers of product desirability. Expanding beyond furniture, the scope includes wooden and durable-material home décor products, enabling broader creative exploration. The project ultimately demonstrates how balancing tradition with innovation can help Indian manufacturers create distinctive, culturally rooted products that resonate with international consumers while preserving authenticity and strengthening India’s design presence in global markets.
