The project looks at the spaces and day-to-day life in the cities of Rajasthan. The work looks at the environment architecturally marked by socio-cultural supremacy to which urban life itself is a subject. The disjunction that the old cities have suffered with the model alteration in the colonising process and the subsequent post-independent town planning based development has reduced them to cities of secondary status in the modern Indian canvas of urbanization. Yet, the core of Rajasthan still lies in these traditional towns. The work documents the nature and the current scenario of these cities in Rajasthan, in their different phases yet with certain similarities binding their present state of being.
