The project brief was to design a typeface in the Odia script that worked for body text. It attempted to try and correct some of the issues in the current Odia typeface and also see if western type design principles when applied to the script, did any good. The script was designed based on research collected about the history, evolution and current presence of it in the media. The outcome was a Unicode compliant Odia typeface meant for small and large volume printing. The first Odia text typeface with a Latin stress, kerning pairs and the first to have five weights.
