The objective was to understand and map the trends emerging in the year 2015 and beyond, and use that knowledge to design a product representative of a particular trend. The study involved four broad steps namely the formation of: trend indicators, trend signals, clustering and evolution of the trend. The first stage entailed collecting key information to detect unique triggers of information, indicative of a change or a developing pattern. After this, the information was classified into categories such as technology, fashion, and politics etc. Three or more trend indicators were clubbed into trend signals. They were clustered allowing different domains to intersect and patterns to be detected hinting towards a trend formation.
