The project entailed a detailed look at the restaurant industry, which would give businesses a new perspective and innovate the existing restaurant systems. The focus of this project was on the user. Different research techniques were used to find the need, problems and opportunity area of stakeholders. The research was made unique by the use of the metaphor elicitation technique as a tool to derive sub-conscious insights about the users’ latent needs. Ultimately, it was to arrive at a design direction, which re-defined the core value of ‘menu cards’ and the restaurant system.
