The fervour of the 2014 elections was unmatched by any other in Indian history. Like any battle of our age, most of them were fought in the relatively harmless confines of social media. There was a lot of mud slung on Facebook walls, and Twitter feeds fed fuel to the fire. Amidst this, All India Bakchod (AIB), India’s most popular comedy collective formed by four stand-up comedians, set out to make a sketch about the rabid, crazy Modi-bhakt viz., a NaMotard. The film follows the fate of this sketch from writing, to casting, to shooting and to its eventual non-release.
