Digital games for the visually challenged, are one of the features in the voice based mobile platform developed by TCS Innovation Labs for visually impaired people coming from economically challenged backgrounds. Considering the absence of visual and tactile components, the project aims at exploring the aural dimension of human engagement in games and thus, in entertainment. With its unique platform – interactive voice response (IVR) - this project challenges existing game design paradigms. The outcome of this project can hopefully lead to newer design models taking into account players from developing countries with large populations resting at the bottom of the pyramid.
