The Indian job market is highly lucrative and is largely divided among print advertising, recruitment agencies, e-recruitments, campus placements, and other activities. Employers or recruitment consultants are constantly in need of relevant résumés that fit their job requirements; they have to go through thousands of résumés before they filter a few relevant candidates.
The hit rates in the online job portals are very low. On the other hand, job seekers also need help in making career choices and getting the right jobs. With their cluttered design, broken user interface, and inappropriately matched jobs for job seekers, this industry is highly unorganised. YourNextLeap.com is building a product that can solve this problem through the rich career profile of the candidate which includes information through self-assessment, social proof, and computer driven assessments; all this would be presented in a structured format on a graph database.
The design process involved research, analysis of research, conceptualisation, information architecture, wire-frames, and user interface design. Based on research findings, the entire user experience and interactions of YourNextLeap.com were designed. The product currently allows users to apply to the right kind of job in a smooth manner. It allows the users to build and maintain their career profile, which in turn, will allow the product to match the user with the right job.
This project facilitated direct interaction with the users of this product, understand their needs and problems and those of the business as well; this helped incorporate the user as well as business feedback in the consecutive design iterations. Regular translational changes are being made to render the product more usable. |
