This project focused on designing a Facebook app for Shufflr. The sponsor creates products to enrich online video experience on mobile phone, tablet, notebook, PC, TV, or any other consumer electronic (CE) device. Althea Systems, a start-up with the vision to improve the way consumers experience online videos by brewing together latest technology and the new social web. Shufflr is their flagship product with users from over 160 countries.
The Shufflr Facebook app is located inside Facebook and allows users to connect to Shufflr using Facebook credentials. Apart from watching videos, Shufflr allows users to share them on Facebook, tweet about the video, tag what they “like” about a particular video, and queue a video for watching at later point in time. Users can invite their Facebook friends to Shufflr; this would create a feeling of watching the contents together.
The research focused on people's online video watching and information sharing behaviour. Through numerous iterations and design critique, the designs looked at the primary user tasks and other customer journey touch points. The design was done keeping in a mind replication of the same web experience across and tablet form factors. The final deliverables included production ready designs with comprehensive user tasks and interactions.
This project was a good opportunity to be a part of a world class team that was committed to making online video watching a better experience. |
