Mobile devices are now becoming the game changers in data usage. While embracing the flexibility these devices offer, data safety becomes the highest concern. The need to monitor data from mobile devices is high as these smart devices move in and out of a corporate space while carrying some sensitive data. Most of these smart devices are employee-owned and are proven to increase work efficiency.

When these devices are being used for work, they need to comply with various regulations that apply for corporate data. These regulations are primarily on archiving, encrypting, and monitoring certain types of data. Organisations face a variety of risks from their inability to properly manage, secure, and archive the use of mobile devices in workplaces.

Device management is not a completely new scenario. It might be new in view of personal devices that are being monitored. This project explores more subtle ways of monitoring mobile devices and making Mobile Device Management (MDM) socially acceptable. The target users were employees using mobile devices for work

The final solution looked at the end user professionals managing their mobile devices. An expansive solution that provided features such as locating the device, protecting sensitive data by encrypting it or wiping it clean from a lost device, be able to track costs of data plan usage, and finally sync personal documents. The final deliverable focused on defining and designing the information architecture, wire frames, and the final visual design for the proposed product on all the supported form factors.
