This project was about developing an online forum for Flipkart. The focus was on creating a platform which increased user engagement. Forums were envisioned as a primary platform for user engagement around the community. Forums had to be created as a products which encouraged participation, great content, repeat visitors, and which took user engagement to the next level.

The target audience comprised Indian users who have knowledge and access to the internet, are within the age group of 20–40, and are the frequent users of Flipkart.User research was done through questionnaires, online surveys, observation, and interaction with actual users.

The design process was research based. Background research was done to understand the organisation and its context. The user research helped find the right users; interviews helped figure out the insights and understand user behaviour. Personas and scenarios were created. Efforts were made to understand various other existing online forums. This was followed by collecting the data, refining, and analysing the same. This was followed by identifying the best information structure, content groupings, and relationships between content nodes, and sub-nodes. The information structure and content groupings were validated by the task flows.

This project provided a good understanding about the e-commerce industry; it also helped learn the importance of competitive analysis and literature survey. Personas, scenarios, and information architecture helped add inputs to the final concept.
