The film talks about the journey of a little girl, who lacks self-confidence and uses external mediums to help her cope with the world. The target audience for my animation film are children in the age group of 7-10 years.
The protagonist is a child who has a severe complex because she is very thin. She puts two five-rupee coins in her pocket to prevent the wind from blowing her away. The story is about how she overcomes this fear and realises her own strength.
I wanted to treat the film in a way so that it would look as if it were made by a seven-year-old and therefore, I used coloured crayons. The film is set in Delhi and locations in the city have been used as backdrops. The first part of the film is set in a school, where many of the events were drawn from my friends’ and my memories. For the second part of the film, where the girl finds her wings to fly, I closely studied first-person games such as Avataar, Mirror, etc. in order to understand and finalize the interaction and movement of objects around the character.
Having explored different mediums in my discipline, I was keen use 2D as the medium to convey my stories and am really fortunate that this project presented me with such an opportunity. |
