My diploma film focused on the current issues of commercialization of Alibag, a small
town near Mumbai, which is now a favourite holiday destination. Through this film I have
tried to create awareness about the cultural and environmental aspects of this place that
are being overlooked for tourism prospects. I tried to tell stories of Alibag by voicing
the people’s views who belonged to this place and thus helped in growing sensibility
towards the local culture of Alibag. Rough footage was shot during the recce work and
put together in a trailer format to give a rough idea of the film. The second recce was
done to thoroughly map the area and seek out the people who will be a key part of the
film. The script was finalized and a crew put together. The shoot was done over a period
of 4 days. A questionnaire was prepared for the interviews in the film. I edited and sub-
titled my film in Adobe Premiere. The sound design was done using Adobe Soundbooth.
The music for my film was professionally composed. The topic of this film was an answer
to my personal quest for finding out what is right or wrong for the future. It has given
me the satisfaction of doing something for my Alibag. I hope for the return of the same
old values that once made Alibag a divine place. |
