My diploma project was to design identity for Agya Chakra or ‘the third eye’. The Agya Chakra ceremony is a representation of excellence in attitude, showcased by the employees of my client, Piramal Healthcare Ltd. The purpose was to draw the viewers visually towards the mystical world of Agya Chakra or the sixth chakra, the circle of devotion, the power of the third eye that the company stood for and its correlation with the Company’s core values through the strokes of the design and the strength of colours. The process began with a thorough acquaintance with the theme and then connecting it with the design concepts. It involved reading books on the subject, brainstorming sessions and constant interaction with the client. I also studied the client profile, their values and beliefs, their artistic and spiritual inclinations and also tried to understand the sponsor’s perspective. My design deliverables were a visual identity and its application on stationary and other collaterals and a trophy designed for the client. The target group was Healthcare Solutions’ employees functioning in different areas including training, manufacturing, sales, marketing, supply chain and finance among others.
This project gave me an opportunity to learn creative visualization. I learnt to use mind’s eye to visualize the event and more importantly put it on paper. Agya Chakra Award Ceremony offered me a whole gamut of experience. I realized how I evolved as a graphic designer after having worked on this project. |
