My diploma project was about designing event identity and branding for the conference on ‘Sustainable Auroville’ which was to be hosted by Auroville. The main objective of this project was to communicate to the outside world all about ‘Auroville’ and to provide a clear platform to access information about the environmental work being carried out by Auroville. The project began with an extensive research process trying to understand ‘Auroville’ and collecting data from the experts from various fields. Experts and enthusiasts very humbly shared their knowledge and visions. To me this was surely the best and the most enriching phase of this project. End deliverables of this project were print communication (poster, note pad, badges, name tags, bag) and web portal.
The target group was professionals working with renewable energy, conservation, sustainable transportation, architecture, water management, non-profit development and social enterprise. Through this project I learnt how to handle and analyze huge data and make use of the right data. I realized the importance of the process of naming in branding as it was the most challenging part of the project and the one that took the maximum time. This project also introduced me to ‘web designing’ and gave me an opportunity to explore other areas of design as well. |
