Zydus Cadila is a global pharmaceutical company that discov¬ers, develops, manufactures, and markets a broad range of healthcare prod¬ucts. The company’s operations range from API to formulations, animal health products and cosmetics. Based in Ahmedabad, India, the group has global op¬erations across USA, Europe, Japan, and Brazil. The objective of my diploma project was to create a specialised uniform for the working staff so as to contribute to its safety, productivity, comfort, and health. This meant applying systematic knowledge about the psychological, physical, and social attributes of human beings in the design and use of all things that will affect a person’s working condition and productivity in a positive way. After analysing the whole unit, I realised opportunities and possibilities which could maximize the productivity. For instance, the simple addition of gussets under the arms instead of traditional set in sleeves giving the surgeon a new range of movement, a new level of stamina, and greater accuracy in the operation theatre. There are different levels at which innovation and improvements could be made:
• Fabric
• Fabric finishes
• Stitching techniques
• Fittings
The entire project was indeed a good learning experience for me. |
