I did my diploma project with Ravissant. The objective was to develop an exquisite kids’ collection in silver to revive the sub-brand called ‘lil Ravissant’. The project required me to design and execute the premier kids collection in silver, for a long forgotten sub-brand under Ravissant called ‘lil Ravissant’, which the company wanted to revive. I designed a grooming set that included a round cup mirror held with a golden but¬terfly, has a circumferential gold ring protect¬ing it from breaking or getting scratched. The comb was made with Teak wood teeth slid inside a silver handle. Teeth had been individually crafted with rounded tips to card through the soft baby scalp.
I also designed a silver egg planted in two meticulously carved rattles; each to suit a different style of holding. It is the best way to put the baby to sleep through a series of rhythmic beats. Inspired from the sweet tinkling sound of mother’s bangles, I designed a flask (450 ml) to keeping the baby milk/water warm. Simple body contours facilitate its easy handling and portability whereas the interlinked gold plated bangles create a pleasing tinkle to hold the baby’s attention. A small feeding glass to go with it was an extension of the form language to keep the sweet tinkle going on even after it separates from the mother’s body. |
