My project aimed at understanding what mobile education can be. It set out to investigate the educational potential of mobile devices in the field of education and for learning and teaching purposes. Applications of mobile technology in education can benefit both students and educators as it provides greater flexibility to the student in learning. Students can have access to educational materials through their mobile devices, which may enable them learn as and when they desire and even while they are on the move.
The objective of my project was to develop innovative learning contents for these mobile devices. Mobile technologies have provided unique opportunities for educators to deliver educational materials efficiently and support the cognitive and social process of student learning. Educational materials can be delivered to students through mobile devices. Students can communicate and interact with their peer students and educators in real-time using mobile technology. It can also be integrated into curriculum design to improve interactivity in the classroom. This project made me learn the entire process of design right from concept generation to final product. I also learnt to design information for specific user group using this new technology.
