My diploma project dealt with designing interaction and interface of a social network media, specially an iPhone App in this case, based on the concepts of a book, a relationship-building guide called 'The Power of Who' authored by Bob Beaudine. He offered more than two decades of practical advice to those who wanted to find a new career, a better job, yearned to smash a sales record or wanted a richer life. It showed the readers how to creatively use their network and their networks' network. The current social network scene also shows a wide range of relationships being built and an increasing need of the people to keep in touch with their friends and acquaintances. Use of Smartphone for a constant need to keep in touch through these social network sites or through Apps comprises of 50-60% of the entire bandwidth. However, there is a urgent need for a specialized system for people to be able to segregate their relationships into exclusive groups, depending on their quality and context of interaction. The project looked at designing the interaction and interface for the application, keeping in mind user’s motivations to use the same with its unique features. The design can be extended to other platforms as well as customized according to the market preferences in terms of devices and mobile OS. |
