The study of my diploma project involved the employees of a large-scale business enterprise as the target audience and their informal communication on a daily basis. “To be social you need to be physically present", this notion of human behavior gave direction to my diploma project research and solutions. My diploma project meant for the above mentioned target user segment had to come up with design interventions to aid intangible communication happening in a large-scale-business environment using a multi-touch smart phone as a tool. This device had to perform three activities: capture, collaborate and share. The informal conversations that took place between various employees of a large-scale business enterprise could be captured through this device. Sharing the same will strongly foster a feeling of a common ground among employees. Various groups of an organization can collaborate on the captured content, organize it as desired and could possibly create practical solutions shared via a multi-touch phone. Thus just a virtual presence will be able to generate scenarios which are same as to those made possible by a real-time presence. The design solutions mutually supported each other and had been proposed on a system-level. |
